Objects under the Night Sky (Still-life)
Made with; Watercolor, Watercolor Pencils, picture of my favorite items
20 in x 11 in
This piece was inspired by Giorgio Morandi's still life art. This is my reaction to his art.
I made this myself with some watercolors. I chose these items because they had a personal connection to me. Using these items helped me show my interests in the earth, astral bodies such as the stars and the gorgeous flower called " the birds of paradise". I changed the color of the canister thingy because gray seemed like it'd fade into the background and i wanted to just make its presence known even though it still has a dark color.
Same goes for the vase with the red color. I also changed the petals of the flower because i wanted it to be super colorful (I didn't know how it looked although i am very satisfied with the pretty colors it has). I made the globe look like the Earth itself. I love how pretty and light-colored it appears to me. Its probably the way i combined the dark and light greens of the globe. It really compliments the light blue water's saturation as the lands aren't too light or too dark.
The background was made using dark blue and orange which gave me that nice dark galaxy-esque color i was looking for. It helped the colors on the original piece stand out. The brown to me, looks like a dark desk that is set out at night to show off its true intent under the night-sky.
