Life’s Saddening Burden
Medium: Scratch board, scratch tools
Approximately 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide
This is another very personal piece to me as it shows the burden of art and how it feels like another task for me to do. The flower and the petals are supposed to symbolize what I once was is now floating away from me. The broken hand is supposed to show that I am still trying to grab what is left of that freedom (flower). The broken hand also symbolizes my sanity, There are two hands pulling me apart from stability and competence while also shattering my mind in the process. The painting is like a reformed version of what is above it although it has sustained some damages showing that I am not perfect but I can try.
The flowers have a different meaning in this portrait as they are sticking on to the bottom or on the ceiling. This symbolizes balance for me. The hands in the middle are embracing the new grown flower which symbolizes creativity coming from unstability. This painting is supposed to hide whats really happening behind the scenes.
I was inspired and motivated by my depression along with how agonizing sometimes it feels to make art regardless of breaks or not. This was not self made apart from the scratches on the drawings. The scratch board I know was bought.
